Spinach Juice - my elixir

My reaction when Deepti offered me a sip of her Spinach Juice was – “You must be out of your mind. I am not having even a drop of that “kadwa” (bitter) thing…”
 
She ignored my sneer and pestered me… And I ended up taking a sip only to realize how utterly wrong I was…I had never tasted it before and I had this misconception of palak (spinach) being bitter…
 
Hence, I say… whatever recipes I share with you… DO TRY. It really does taste fine. (else I, for sure would not be having it :P)
 
Before we get into the recipe, here are some of the benefits of this juice:
  • Rich in protein
  • Full of vitamins and nutrients
  • Rich in iron
  • Detoxifier
  • High in Antioxidants
  • Great for skin & hair
INGREDIENTS:
  • 2 cups of spinach
  • Juice from half lemon
  • 1 cup water
  • Salt (optional)
DIRECTIONS FOR MAKING THE JUICE:
  1. Wash and clean the spinach.
  2. Steam the wet spinach in a steel vessel for 5minutes. No need to add extra water.
  3. Let it cool.
  4. Add the spinach and water to a blender jar. Add lemon juice.
  5. Blend it well. No need to sieve it if you blend well.
  6. Pour the juice into the serving glass. Add a pinch of salt if you like and drink it up!
Remember:
  • This is for immediate consumption.
  • You can have it daily.
  • There can be variations of this juice. E.g. you can add carrot, beetroot, mint leaves too.
Spinach juice is probably the easiest and quickest way to have your daily intake of greens.
